Homemade Chicken Tenders

Homemade chicken tenders are a favorite finger food loved by all kids and is a quick and easy meal you can prepare any busy weeknight. Just add golden crispy fries with lemon buttered steamed asparagus and you’ve  got a great meal.

Prep Time: 30 minutes         Cook Time:  5-7 minutes        Yield: 4 servings



2 large boneless chicken breast

2 1/2 cups of buttermilk

1 1/2 cups of  White Lilly all purpose flour

Buttermilk Brine:

1 teaspoon of Hungarian paprika

1 teaspoon of sage

1 teaspoon of turmeric

1 teaspoon of fenugreek seed

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon of abode seasoning

2 teaspoons of white pepper

2 teaspoons  of Aleppo pepper

2 teaspoons of thyme

Lightly sprinkled Kosher salt


Remove skin and cut chicken breast in strips then combine all ingredients in a large bowl.  Marinate in refrigerated buttermilk brine for 6 to 24 hours covered with Saran wrap.


Dredge chicken strips lightly through White Lilly all purpose flour than carefully place in heated pan filled with enough hot cooking oil to cover strips. Fry at medium/high temperature for 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown. Serve with ranch dressing or sauce of your choice.

Additional  Notes:

Abode seasoning  consist of dried crushed onions, garlic, black pepper, Mexican oregano, cumin and cayenne pepper. Aleppo pepper has mild heat with a slightly fruity taste.
